Our mission

The American Buyer is an independent consumer product review publication serving American households. We buy and test every product at U.S. retail prices.

We do not accept free products from manufacturers. We do not accept payment for reviews. Our revenue comes from affiliate commissions when readers purchase products through our links — but our recommendations are made before any commercial consideration.

How we work

Our testing process follows a consistent methodology across every product category:

• We buy every product at retail price from the same stores our readers use.
• We test in real conditions — not labs optimized for best-case results.
• We measure, don't guess. Subjective impressions are validated with calibrated instruments.
• We test long-term. A product that is great on day one and failing by month three does not earn a recommendation.
• We update continuously. When manufacturers release updates or competitors launch new models, we re-evaluate.
